Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a standard loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
Whisk together the dry ingredients in a medium bowl: flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream the butter, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the bananas to your wet ingredients and mash with a whisk or fork.
Gently fold in the dry ingredients using a spatula. Mix just until no flour remains do not over-mix.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top. Add optional toppings if you wish!
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature. Wrap any leftovers to keep them moist for days.
